LETTER PLAY

The series, A Stupid Brilliance, inspired a new body of work relating to this quote. “I couldn’t read ‘a,’ ‘and’ or ‘the’ or spell ‘cat’ to save my life.” Words and letters were the enemy. Thankfully, I overcame the struggles of severe dyslexia.

After battling against letters for most of my childhood, I wanted to approach the alphabet with a fun and whimsical eye. That is were the series, Letter Play, came to life. Letter Play combines my love of street photography and treasure hunts. I had a lot of fun wondering through several towns in South West Michigan. I hope this series encourages people to take a closer look at the world around them. Our mundane surroundings can be full of beauty if we just take the time to slow down and see it.
